Lately, I have been focusing on making boxes. There is something mystical about a box. It is your small world, a special place where your treasures, your secrets are put on hold until the next visit. A box arouses your curiosity. Open the lid and you are unveiling the mystery, the story is told. It is a place where you can escape.
I like to make my boxes interesting, with textures, handles and feet. I apply glaze designs and I use the Raku firing technique; It gives my pieces an earthy and rustic look.
Though I am making boxes, I like to make platters, vases, wall pieces, I guess anything that I think will be fun to do. When in the studio I want to have a good time, it gives my work a whimsical look. All of my work are one of a kind.
